Swiss Windmill Automaton Pocket Watch, Visible Balance — c. 1895
$6,600.00 USD
A genuinely unusual piece of 19th-century whimsy: a Swiss pocket watch, circa 1895, whose colorful painted Alpine-scene dial carries gold windmill blades that rotate as the movement runs, with a visible balance aperture below. Offset Arabic numerals and spade hands complete the picture.
50 mm gun-metal two-body case; manual-winding bridge movement with lever escapement and pin setting. Running, with a light pitted area on the case back. Ships tracked and insured, signature required.
